The Chatterbox, the student newsmagazine of George Washington High School in Danville, Va, is an open-forum publication that publishes six issues per year.
Coverage and editorial policy.
The Chatterbox staff strives to provide informative and accurate coverage of individuals within the school as well as in Danville. It strives to function as a medium for aspiring journalists, artists and writers, and as a public forum for student expression concerning all topics of interest locally, nationally and internationally. All content decisions are finalized by student staff members. No content is to be constructed as administrative opinion or stance. All comments are student opinion only.
Letters to the editor policy.
The Chatterbox staff welcomes comments in letters to the editor from students, faculty, and the public. Letters must be signed and may be submitted to The Chatterbox staff in E-101 or by mail at 701 Broad Street, Danville, Va. 24541. The Chatterbox staff reserves the right to reject any letters containing libelous statements, the right to edit for length and grammatical errors, and the right to ascertain the truthfulness of the content.
Memberships.
The Chatterbox belongs to the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the National Scholastic Press Association, the Southern Intercollegiate Press Association and the Virginia High School League.
Parking Decal Sales.
All students are required to purchase a parking decal in order to park on the G.W. campus, and The Chatterbox handles all sales. Decals cost $10. Click HERE to download the Student Parking Agreement that must be completed in full prior to decal purchase. (You must have Adobe Reader installed to view and print the agreement.) Decals are generally sold during Open House, before and after school for the first two weeks of school, and during Chatterbox classes.
The Chatterbox newsmagazine is an open-forum publication designed, planned, written and directed by students enrolled in newsmagazine classes at George Washington High School, Danville, Va.
